Assia Bencer Alaoui expresses how the reasons and paths of Muslim women deciding to wear the veil are personal, unique and diverse, and how in no case should this choice constitute an obstacle to the free fulfillment of women. She insists that it is everyone’s responsibility to combat prejudice on a daily basis, both at national and European level, and that Islamophobia is not a problem only for Muslim people, but of the society as a whole.
